A Djibouti passport is not complicated to apply for. As long as you have all the necessary documentation and you fill in the form, you should be able to get it without too much effort.

Photo specs

  • Required photo size: 45 mm in height and 35 mm in width

Djibouti Passport Photos and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications

Do you need more information about the Djibouti passport photo requirements? If so, you will find some further explanations below. Submitting an improper passport photo is one of the most common causes of rejection, and we want you to avoid that. The more information you have, the better.

  • First things first, you have to choose the right setting in which to take your photo. The background needs to be white without any colors, patterns, or shadows. A white wall will do just fine. If you do not have one in your house, take a white sheet and hang it on the wall. That should do the trick.
  • The best camera placement is at eye level. The photo must include all your facial features, so keep your head straight. The sides of your face must be equally visible, so do not tilt or rotate your head in any direction. If you submit a portrait-style photo, your application will be rejected.
  • When you take your passport photo or visa photo, you cannot smile, frown, or raise your eyebrows. Your facial expression needs to be neutral. To achieve that, relax the muscles of your face when snapping the picture.
  • Your eyes must look directly into the camera. They must be clearly visible. If you wear glasses, you can keep them on but only if the frames do not obstruct your eyes and there is no glare. Your eyes must not be covered by your hair either. In your passport photo or visa photo, you cannot wear sunglasses or glasses with tinted lenses.
  • Improper lighting can potentially modify some of your facial features, so make sure that the source is right in front of you. That way, there will be no shadows on your face. Moreover, choose an environment where the light is neither too intense nor too dark.
  • If you are bound by religious beliefs to keep your head covered at all times, you can keep your headwear for your passport photo or visa photo. Even so, your face must be entirely visible from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin. The headwear should not cast shadows on your face, either.
  • Is your beard a part of your everyday look? If the answer is yes, then you can keep it for the passport photo or visa photo.

No matter the age, all travelers need to have their own passport and visa. Children make no exception. That is why you must take their picture as well if you want to take them on your trip. Here are some tips that can help you with the process.

  • Children should be awake when taking their photo.
  • Children’s heads can occupy less space in their passport photo or visa photo.
  • If you want to take the picture while the child sits in a car seat, remember to place a white cover on the backrest.
  • In case you want to take a picture of a baby while lying on their back, remember to place a white sheet underneath.
  • If you want to hold the baby, keep in mind that not even your hands can be visible in the picture. Only the child can appear in the passport photo or visa photo.
  • Remove pacifiers and hats before taking the photo.
